Dallas TX- Maurice Uyokpeyi has stepped down from his position as Head Coach of the Men's Soccer team at Dallas Christian College effective immediately. He has retired from collegiate coaching. Uyokpeyi has spent the last eight seasons building the soccer program. His professional coaching experience is something that proved to be a valuable tool and he put it to good use with trips to the NCCAA National Tournament in 2012, 2013 and 2015.
Athletic Director, Jordan Strom, had this to say, "We are blessed to have had Maurice on staff over the last eight years. He took the Men's Soccer program to heights it hadn't seen before while mentoring many student-athletes during his tenure. We wish Coach Uyokpeyi the best as he transitions out of his role at DCC."
DCC will miss the passion and energy of coach Uyokpeyi. His passion for helping others, as well as his unique style, will guide him along, no matter what he chooses to do next.
"While I have enjoyed my time coaching these players, I have had to shift my gears and take care of some more important matters in my life. I appreciate the opportunity that this position has given me. The ability to motivate, develop, and impact these student-athletes is something I take pride in, and I will miss it. I am grateful that Dallas Christian College took a chance on me. The memories that I made here will be something that I will always cherish," said Coach Uyokepyi.
