Mid Season Peak

Mid Season Peak

Mid Season Peak:

Mac n' Cheese…pumpkin pie…green bean casserole…Thanksgiving has come and gone and we are ready to hit the court again! Season is underway! We have played several exhibition games against really good teams. That will serve us well as we prepare to head into region play once December hits. Our preseason contests shed light on the things we still need to improve at. The players are starting to understand their individual roles and how each of those contributes to us having success as a whole. Always neat to see the girls have some "ah-ha moments" and begin to click in and really start to play as a unit. Every season has ups and downs. This one has already followed that trend as we lost our senior captain, Nyeia Bias to a season ending injury in our second game.  Not having Nyeia on the floor is a huge blow for us, but she will continue to lead at practices and from the sidelines. Her absence will allow other players to step up and own parts of her role as their own now. I am proud to see that happening already.  I'm also proud of the way her teammates have rallied around her, supporting her and lifting her up during this time. That's what it's all about after all-the relationships that we build along the way. Even though November is coming to a close, we will continue to be thankful…for friendships, for lessons in the trying times, for the physical talents we've all been blessed with that allow us to compete, and for the great game of basketball that molds and shapes our bodies, minds, and spirits. We are excited for the upcoming portion of season! Next 3 games are on the road-be sure to follow us online. Then come see us in action again at home on Dec 11th.  Go Crusaders!
